Cross-Contamination

Cross-contamination is the direct or indirect transfer of germs or other substances to a living being or an object. When a person touches a contaminated object, for example, germs may first pass to his or her hand. As soon as the person touches another person or surface with the contaminated hand, germs are transferred there.
